Cyclist Nicole Cooke has won Britain’s first gold medal of the Beijing Games. Despite really bad weather the 25-year-old, from Wales, raced to victory in the women’s cycling road race in three hours, 32 minutes and 24 seconds. “We did it, its perfect. It’s a dream come true,” she said, after becoming Britain’s first Olympic medallist in this event. |

That is fantastic for team GB and they won gold in the pool last night. That was great because it was the first time we won gold in the pool for 48 years. I am on the plane right now for a 5 hour flight. They have brought my food and have Shrek 3 on so better go.

well she is just great was’nt she
